As you have probably noticed, there are many filterable metrics on the “Opportunities” side. Here is what they all mean:

1. Date & Deadline

With editorial platforms like HARO (Help a Reporter Out), there is almost always an opportunity release date. This is what we label as the “Date” and can be used to tell how recently an opportunity was uploaded. Our automated system uploads these as soon as they are available. “Deadline” simply refers to the date and time in which an opportunity will expire.

2. Link Type

“Link Type” refers to what type of citation you are likely to get from a certain publication. In some cases, a publication will only give an unlinked mention, while in other cases, they may provide a “dofollow”, or “nofollow”, link. We do our best to provide you with the most up-to-date linking policies for our SEO-minded users.

3. Source

We work directly with publishers to bring new opportunities, as well as aggregate data from platforms like HARO. In this column, you can see exactly where we have sourced each individual opportunity!

4. DR (Domain Rating)

PitchResponse gathers its metrics from Ahrefs and “DR” (or Domain Rating), is their way of measuring a publication’s SEO value, should they provide you with a backlink. This works on a scale of 0-99, higher being better. Generally, higher DR publications tend to be the most recognizable, high-traffic sites, but lower DR opportunities are less competitive to land a placement in.

5. Traffic

As with “DR”, we collect our “Traffic” metric from Ahrefs. This number is simply the number of visitors (estimated by Ahrefs), that a publication receives each day.
